Pete Kaminski is my go-to guy on personal AI. More than anyone else I’ve heard, Pete waxes wise and delivers the most useful goods.
And he’s talking tomorrow at 4 PM Eastern at Indiana University (where I hang here and here), and live on Zoom. Here’s his title and topic:
Augmented Humanity: How Human–Agent Teams Will Change the Way We Solve Problems
What we call artificial intelligence is really aggregated, harnessed human intelligence, like a library or a civilization.
What’s new is the harness, and who holds it.
Since the spring of 2026, Peter Kaminski has worked every day with a small team of personal AI assistants: long-lasting agents with names, memory, and bounded autonomy, which work for him alone and keep all their memories and working files on his own machine, on his premises. (Their thinking power still comes from the cloud; he’ll be exact about what that does and doesn’t expose.)
Pete makes the case that people and their agents, working together and with other people and their agents, will change the way we solve problems.
The VRM angle: personal AI is how we finally, after 20 years of waiting, make it happen.
Take a look at this Tom Fishburne cartoon. See the agent on the right? We’ll use Pete’s wisdom to make that agent truly ours, and not a suction cup on a corporate tentacle.
